Ranking All 29 WWE Returns And Debuts In 2022

5. Logan Paul

A man who wrestled just three matches in 2022 makes the top 5, but for good reason.

Logan Paul is the kind of mainstream celebrity wrestler WWE has been trying to recruit since Mr. T set the precedent. A social media influencer with a massive following, Paul debuted at WrestleMania 38 alongside the Miz, defeating the Mysterios. He would sign a WWE contract and return at SummerSlam in a singles match against Miz that really opened some eyes to what he is capable of in the ring.

But it was Logan calling his shot and challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship that really garnered praise, with a man in his third match competing in a PLE main event at Crown Jewel – including that ridiculous viral video.

Depending on how often Paul wants to wrestle and whether WWE can prevent him from becoming another of their homogenized superstars, he could have an even more impressive 2023.

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
