Returning to his darker roots, he unleashed a supernatural wave of terror over SmackDown as he battled the likes of Booker T, The Dudley Boyz and Heidenreich. However, it was his WWE Championship program with JBL that stood out for how just how well-paced it all was - even if the pair's matches weren't all that great. In fact, the writers did a solid job throughout that year, showcasing how a relic like The Undertaker of old could still fit into the modern-day landscape of WWE.
