A year that breathed new life into the American Badass persona, 'Taker spent much of 2002 as the company's top heel - winning the Undisputed Championship from Hulk Hogan while defending it against the likes of Triple H and The Rock - before transitioning back to face when they needed a reliable veteran to stand up to Brock Lesnar.

The pair's feud is rightly considered among 'Taker's all-time greatest, while their bloody Hell In A Cell match has gone down in history as one of the most compelling (and graphic) showdowns to ever take place inside the Devil's Playground.

Undoubtedly a year of resurgence for 'The Phenom', he was back in shape and had overcome some of the limitations that plagued the early years of his biker persona, repositioning himself at the top of the food chain and kicking off his iconic decade-long reign of dominance over SmackDown.
