Ranking All Of Goldberg’s WWE Return Matches From Worst To Best
9. Kevin Owens (Fastlane 2017)
"At least it was short" doesn't wash with Goldberg matches. Most of them are brief - that was part of his initial magic when he burst onto the WCW scene in 1997 like some fire breathing squash match machine. Somehow, at Fastlane 2017, Bill managed to overstay his welcome in just 22 seconds.
No-one wanted this. A quick poll of most WWE fans at the time would've revealed that they were pinning hopes on Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho for the Universal strap at WrestleMania 33. Instead, right before that show, they saw big Bill conquer KO like he was Barry freakin' Horowitz and this was Wrestling Challenge in 1994.
It sucked.
Did it suck quite as much as the Bray, Undertaker or Braun stuff? Sure, but revisiting all 12 of these matches before producing the list revealed more pain hiding in those bouts than in this one. This was a tragic WWE creative decision, and nothing more.
