Ranking Brock Lesnar's 7 UFC Fights From Least To Most Dominant

3. Lesnar vs. Carwin

The comeback story, or how to outlast an opponent via the Homer Simpson method. A better fighter would have beat Lesnar in this bout. Shane Carwin had Lesnar down and was pounding away towards the end of the first round at UFC 116, but he couldn't finish the beast. In the second round, having gassed from unleashing so many punches, Carwin found himself caught in an arm-triangle, and tapped. Carwin at the time had been the interim heavyweight champion, as Lesnar had been out with his first bout of diverticulitis, which had, according to estimates by his surgeon, been ongoing for a year. It had worn down his immune system to the point that he contracted mononucleosis as well. Think about that. Lesnar had been ill for a year yet still fought, and after surgery to patch up a perforated intestine that had been leaking fecal matter into his abdomen, he still came back and beat Carwin, matching the record for most heavyweight title defenses.
