Ranking Conor McGregors' Next Opponent From Least To Most Likely
1. Khabib Nurmagomedov
The most profitable rivalry in MMA history is definitely going down again. Whether it will be McGregor's next fight is debatable, but highly likely.
Dana White has aggressively pursued a rematch between the two men ever since the referee waved off McGregor's slaughter of Cerrone. Conor is also obsessed with trying his luck against the Russian mauling machine again to the point that merely announcing his name sets him off.
McGregor has been full of excuses following his fourth-round submission loss to Khabib back in 2018, but the Irishman does seem to be in a much better place and much more disciplined that it makes the rematch very intriguing.
Conor also looked terrific against Cerrone and had a much more humble air to him in the build-up to UFC 246. His avoidance of the party lifestyle and poor work ethic seemed to revert him back to the McGregor that steamrolled Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title.
The only roadblock seems to be Khabib and his father Abdulmanap's ridiculous price tag of $100 million to have it go ahead. Khabib himself has also stated McGregor has to win ten fights in a row to get his shot, but it's all just talk for now.
Once the ludicrously expensive contracts are placed in front of each of them, both will sign and the biggest fight in UFC history will go down once more.
There's plenty of bad blood, McGregor is craving the chance at revenge and Dana White seems utterly set on making it happen.
