9. SummerSlam

The Good: A Vince McMahon fever dream brought to life, SummerSlam's chaotic fatal four-way main event was f**king great fun. Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe all beat the absolute sh*t out of each other in a nonstop action movie of a match that holds up to multiple rewatches. Cesaro ripping a beach ball in half mid way through The Bar's Tag Team Title match with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins stole the headlines, but the match would have stolen the entire night had it not been for their SmackDown Live! compatriots on the pre-show. The Usos/New Day clash was the best of their epic series and the best WWE tag team match of 2017.

The Bad: Bray Wyatt's provided the sauce for his own sh*t sandwich when he tipped it on Finn's head just before their SummerSlam showdown. He triggered 'The Demon', got 'The Demon', and lost to 'The Demon'. What a berk. An unnecessarily lengthy pre-show resulted in The Hardy Boy, Jason Jordan, The Miz and The Miztourage all working in front of an almost empty arena. They all deserved a better night than that.

The Ugly: The continued on-screen punishment of Enzo Amore scoured new depths by raising him to uncomfortable new heights. Acrophobic Enzo was plonked in a shark cage for the closest view of one of the year's worst matches as Big Cass lumbered home against The Big Show. Elsewhere, John Cena's treatment of Baron Corbin was abhorrent. It's been some time since 'The Champ' sh*t so joyously on a midcarder's hopes and dreams that this return to old habits represented a jaggedly unwelcome surprise.
