Ranking Every 2019 WWE PPV From Worst To Best
2. SummerSlam
The Good: An amazing Fiend debut stole the show and the headlines thanks to Finn Bálor's gracious put-over and the company's sensational production bringing this terrifying manifestation to life. It wouldn't last, sadly. Trish Stratus bid WWE a tearful farewell after a fantastic retirement battle with Charlotte Flair, whilst Seth Rollins finally appeared to smash his pre-Summer blues with yet another emphatic and gutsy victory over Brock Lesnar. A Goldberg/Dolph Ziggler squash was inch-perfect too, whilst Kevin Owens' win over Shane McMahon was so strong that it should have been the end of their series.
The Bad: AJ Styles and Ricochet somehow both looked ordinary in a match that should have allowed them to express themselves in a more satisfying manner. Working WWE's house style instead of their own, the contest struggled to come alive despite the obvious grace and ability of the pair.
The Ugly: Kofi Kingston's draw with Randy Orton was a bit of a disaster, in truth. Failing to entertain was trouble for the wrestlers, but failing to deliver a winner was the main issue for fans in the arena and watching at home.
