Ranking Every AEW World Championship Match From Worst To Best
11. Chris Jericho Vs. Scorpio Sky (Dynamite #9)
On a night that saw Chris Jericho's Thanksgiving Celebrashon, Scorpio Sky stepped up to the plate to challenge 'Le Champion'. The then-World Tag Team Champion had been built up perfectly as a viable contender for Jericho's strap, having primarily been a tag and trios wrestler for his entire AEW career.
As was the case with The Butcher, 'The Violent Delight' was never going to win the title, of course, however, Sky left you wondering that maybe, just maybe, he could become a World Champion.
The crowd were firmly on Sky's side here, popping huge for his nearest of near falls over the defending champion from a TKO. Even though the rivalry between the pair could have easily used another week of build to fully make it as amazing as it possibly could have been, there's no denying how terrific Scorpio looked against one of the greatest to ever do it.
A Liontamer ended Sky's hopes and dreams - always nice to see AEW matches sometimes end without the use of the normal finishers. Who knows if we'll ever see Sky in the main title picture again, although he'd be a worthy TNT Championship contender.
This match, however, proved that he's able to hang with the best of them.
