Result: Ibushi drills Kendrick with the Golden Star Powerbomb (13:59).
Rating: These two were a great pairing, with Kendrick's ring psychology and underhanded tactics being pitted against Ibushi's flawless technical abilities.
This one took no time at all to get ugly in the best way possible, all leading up to the match's big talking point, that Kendrick was allowed to blast Ibushi with the Burning Hammer in a WWE ring.
The closing sequence with Kendrick's Bully Choke attempt followed by Ibushi's Golden Star was just immense. It was always going to be Ibushi's win, but he made Kendrick look like a million bucks, and with the former WWE star coming to Raw's Cruiserweight Division, it'll be great to see him enjoying a well-deserved career resurgence.
His post-match embrace with Bryan really dialed the emotion and storytelling up to the next level, too. 9/10
