Ranking Every CWC Final Round Match - From Worst To Best
1. Semi-Final: Kota Ibushi Vs. T.J. Perkins
Result: Perkins makes Ibushi tap with a modified Knee Bar (14:51).
Rating: This one kicked off with some terrifically slick, technical grappling between the two, and much like Sabre, Ibushi hadn't even remotely struggled against an opponent as he did here from the outset.
Ibushi sold the hell out of an early head bump on the outside by slipping off the apron, but soon enough found his rhythm and managed to escape several attempts by Perkins to lock in his lethal Knee Bar.
This was an extremely physical contest, with Perkins' DDT reversal and Pele Kick counter into the Knee Bar in particular looking incredible. The crowd went absolutely nuts for the closing kick-out fest, and the in-ring story was marvelous throughout, especially Perkins realising he had to one-up his Knee Bar by wrenching on Kota's repaired neck to win the match. 9/10
