And there we have it; Randy Orton completes the hat trick with his third appearance in a row. Then again, I’m not sure how great an achievement that is, given the stage of the list we’re at. Still, Orton and Cena’s second-ever Hell in a Cell match, five years after the first, showed a marked improvement on their initial effort.

This 2014 meeting was peppered with some call backs to their previous Cell match, as well as a number of innovative reversals, reflecting the fact that by this point they knew each other inside out. The pick of the bunch was probably Orton’s razor-sharp counter of Cena’s shoulder tackle into a perfectly-time RKO, although the Viper may well have outdone himself when he later countered an Attitude Adjustment into a second RKO. Out of nowhere, indeed.

The back-and-forth action ended with a top-rope AA to send Randy crashing through a table. It brought down the curtain on a fun match (perhaps surprisingly so) but one that still didn't quite do enough to go down as one of very best in Hell in a Cell history.
