30. The Undertaker & Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. Mankind & Kane
Just a few months prior to that previous entry, the writers were up to similar tricks—this time essentially using a Hell in a Cell match to hype the upcoming King of the Ring show.
With the PPV set to feature Austin vs. Kane for the WWE Championship and Undertaker vs. Mankind inside Hell in a Cell (more on that one later), all four men were thrust into the Cell on an episode of Raw leading up to the event, presumably to give fans a glimpse of the future.
Only, it wasn’t much of a glimpse at all. The match lasted little over ten minutes and confusingly the broadcast went off the air with the action still raging away.
Austin and Kane continued to battle atop the Cell, the footage of which can now be found on the WWE Network. Not that that was particularly helpful back in June of 1998 though…
