Ranking Every Hell In A Cell Match In WWE History - From Worst To Best
28. CM Punk Vs. Ryback
At least in CM Punk’s showdown with Ryback the Hell in a Cell stipulation made sense; Punk had been fleeing from Ryback for weeks, but come the Hell in a Cell 2012 PPV there’d be nowhere left to run.
Here though, it was the action itself that let the match down, which is now perhaps somewhat more understandable given Punk’s revelations about the friction between the two. The only real extreme moments were the use of a kendo stick and Punk’s amusing employment of a fire extinguisher, while the finish was marred by Brad Maddox’s role as the crooked referee (which, by the way, he was handed an immediate comeuppance for).
The match did end on a literal high note with the action spilling onto the Cell roof, but other than that there wasn’t really too much to savour here.
