Ranking Every Hell In A Cell Match In WWE History - From Worst To Best

26. John Cena Vs. Randy Orton (2009)

One of many meetings between John Cena and Randy Orton was their encounter at the 2009 Hell in a Cell PPV. Taking place right in the thick of the PG era, that attitude of the time certainly showed in this match.

By Hell in a Cell standards, this was a relatively tame affair, and it arguably suffered from fans losing interest in a rivalry that was fast being exhausted. Furthermore, it also pales in comparison to their Iron Man match that would take place just a few weeks later, so that’s likely another factor that works against this one.

Ultimately though, it was another clash that just didn’t really feel like a true Cell match. Without the stipulation it would have held up just fine, but within it this felt rather underwhelming. All in all, it wasn’t Cena and Orton’s best effort together, in fact it wasn’t even their best Hell in a Cell match together, as we'll eventually see.
