Ranking Every Major CM Punk AEW Match - From Worst To Best
10. Vs Jon Moxley (Dynamite Aug 24, 2022)
He may have never seen a Rocky movie, but that still didn't stop CM Punk from playing his part as 'The Italian Stallion' in one of the most unexpected AEW World Championship fights of all time.
After spending the summer on the sidelines, due to breaking his foot while attempting a crowd dive, a typically cocky Punk was back and ready to reestablish himself as the Undisputed AEW World Champ.
He just needed to get through a Moxley-shaped wall in order to do so.
Killing the dream of Punk picking right back up where he left off and going on a world title run for the ages dead, a white hot and very much split crowd watched Interim title-holder Mox utterly obliterate his rival.
Smelling blood in the water after Punk jarred his standing foot during a head kick, the savage attack that followed, one involving TWO Death Riders on a vulnerable returning champ, resulted in a visibly stunned Wolstein Center as an in-form Mox confidently walked out with both straps.
It wasn't an in-ring classic. But in the space of just over three electric minutes, both men had the entire wrestling world picking their jaws back up off the ground.
