17. The Hurt Business Explodes!

The Hurt Business are a canny act on a show that can't book. So...pointless, then. Cruel, almost.

They are currently on top of the world, happily calling Riddle a thick tw*t backstage, wearing exceptional drips, and holding all of the midcard gold. Except they're not on top of the world because the power has gone to Cedric Alexander's head, and it's causing friction. He thinks he's key to their success and is very keen on no-selling anything Shelton Benjamin had to do with it.

So what's happening here is that Cedric is turning heel on...the...heel group. Riddle is such an unlikeable t*sser that it's really rather hard to tell, but they were nasty to R-Truth, which provides a clue towards solving the sort of mystery - "Am I meant to like this person, or what?" - that plagues all three brands.

Usually, the babyface breaks out. Batista gathered that Triple H was using him in 2004; over in AEW, Sammy Guevara is experiencing a similar revelation. That's because nobody, except Triple H, wants to see a heel versus heel programme.

A strange dynamic that can only result in a stranger one, they at least look nice in their suits and it's fun when Lashley kills people.

Not sure it's worth one billion US dollars, mind.
