This match was quite good - it did everything that a Royal Rumble match should do - it pushed young talent, it had a sh*tload of returns and debuts and it had the right winner in the end. Unfortunately, it didn't really do anything else, and that's the only thing preventing it from being remembered as a classic.

Outside of the entertaining Nia Jax spot, there's not a lot here that fans will be remembering for long. WWE played it safe by going with Seth Rollins as a winner, but his battle with Braun Strowman at the very end had some WWE fans thinking that The Monster Among Men would be headlining WrestleMania in April.

Rollins wasn't a particularly inspired winner given the fact he spent most of the match doing nothing, but this only emphasised how hard wrestlers like Andrade, McIntyre and Samoa Joe worked to cement their spot on the main roster. Mustafa Ali in particular had a fantastic showing, lasting over half an hour and eliminating the previous year's winner Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe.

While this wasn't the most memorable of matches, it more than did its part.
