NXT eventually subtitled this show "The End Of The Beginning", accurately noting that it was something of a goodbye to a host of stars that had come to exemplify the hottest ever period for the brand.

WWE were splitting the main rosters of Raw and SmackDown again, and the black-and-gold brand was set to be pillaged to fill space on the revitalised Raw and SmackDown rosters, and it what turned out to be the last over TakeOver at Full Sail University, several big names were about to say goodbye to this glorious stage.

American Alpha, Nia Jax and Finn Bálor all lost strong matches to The Revival, Asuka and Samoa Joe respectively ahead of main roster call ups just weeks later. Elsewhere, Shinsuke Nakamura's breathless war with Austin Aries kept both in the conversation for future title contention whilst Andrade 'Cien' Almas' misguided debut was brilliant...even if it got his opponent Tye Dillinger over instead.
