Title: WWE Championship

Match Time: 19:50

This was a sensational match, an oft-forgotten one during a down period for WWE. On paper it just looks like Super Cena scooping up another World Championship at the expense of a struggling Miz, with John Morrison playing third wheel.

But it turned into a real sleeper classic. Morrison was the star of the show in what should have been a career-making performance.

He and Cena teamed up throughout the match to dispatch of The Miz before turning on each other.

The triple threat formula can be a hard one to get right but these three were clicking. Miz and Morrison had fantastic chemistry from their days as Tag Team Champions, a run that really did save both their careers at the time.

Love him or hate him, Cena too played his part beautifully, guiding the two lesser experienced main event players in a match where all three had to be on the move almost at all times.

Morrison got his cage match moment with a picture-perfect Starship Pain off the top of the cage. He had the crowd behind him; people genuinely believed he was going to win the title late in the match when he was almost out of the cage.

Only for R-Truth to interfere and deny him the win.

Cena picked off The Miz with an Attitude Adjustment for his eighth WWE Championship. Morrison unfortunately would never get as close to the title as he did that night.
