Ranking Every Randy Orton WrestleMania Match - From Worst To Best
10. Cody Rhodes Vs. Ted DiBiase Vs. Randy Orton (WrestleMania XXVI)
WrestleMania XXVI saw tensions within Legacy reach boiling point, as Randy Orton faced off against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase in Triple Threat competition. And though the match was by no means a disaster, it was arguably let down by the fact that it didn’t do much for the two up-and-comers in the equation. Instead, it only reinforced the idea that Rhodes and DiBiase simply weren’t on Orton’s level.
The two rookies spent much of the opening stages double-teaming Orton, although their downfall proved to be their inability to decide which one should be allowed to score the actual pinfall. That led to the pair’s alliance disintegrating, allowing Orton to recover and eventually clean house.
After a double draping DDT, he then punted Rhodes in the head and hit DiBiase with the RKO for the 1-2-3.
Sure, it made for a cool WrestleMania moment, but having Orton beat both guys singlehandedly may not have been the wisest piece of long-term booking. For that reason, it’s difficult to reflect on this match with too much positivity.
