Lex Luger vs. Yokozuna - Wrestlemania 10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5Cmr1WHxa4 With Hulk Hogan's departure from WWE, Vince McMahon was desperate to find someone to fill that particular hole in his roster. Lex Luger was, apparently, that man. Despite being debuted as a literal narcissist at the 1993 Royal Rumble, Lex was quickly turned into an American Hero, which he achieved by bodyslamming Yokozuna on Independence Day (of all days) after no-one else could manage. Luger was entered into the main event scene relatively quickly. Royal Rumble history was made in 1994, when at the conclusion of the Royal Rumble match, Bret Hart & Lex Luger managed to eliminate each other simultaneously. This was, of course, on purpose, and not like the debacle of 2005 (more on that later). With officials unable to declare a clear winner, it was decided that both Bret Hart & Lex Luger received a title match at that year's Wrestlemania. After losing a coin toss it was determined that Lex would have his championship match first, with the winner then going on to face Bret Hart later on in the night. The story of the match pitted Luger's strength against Yokozuna's power. It wasn't the prettiest of matches, but had an entertaining finish. Lex hit Yokozuna with his running clothesline that knocked him out cold. Lex was looking set to win, but some interference by managers and less than perfect refereeing from special guest referee Mr. Perfect made Luger mad. He pushed Mr. Perfect, and as a result was disqualified. Lex never returned to WWE's title scene, eventually returning to WCW in 1995. As such, Lex is the only Rumble winner on the list to have never held a WWE top title.
