Ranking Every Triple H Vs Mick Foley WWE Pay-Per-View Match - From Worst To Best
2. Triple H Vs Cactus Jack (No Way Out 2000)
Around the time Mick Foley became a New York Times bestselling author, he tiptoed around becoming a wrestling auteur, with his promos, storylines and segments becoming laden with pathos and drama that elevated his big matches beyond traditional plains.
Never was this more prevalent than in his No Way Out 2000 pay-per-view contest with WWE Champion Triple H.
It was Foley's last grasp for 'The Game's beloved prize, having failed once since morphing into Cactus Jack earlier that year following his demeaning treatment from the malevolent McMahon-Helmsley Regime as Mankind.
Jack had no choice but to put his career on the line, but the Hell In A Cell stipulation ostensibly placed much back in his favour just as the 'I Quit' precondition in his match against The Rock had done one year earlier.
It was reasoned that the mere fact Foley had survived the most brutal beating in company history during his last swing through the Cell proved him indestructible, but Triple H somehow found a way not only to match his intensity, but ironically use the cage's own fallibility to down the iconic madman.
20 minutes into a frighteningly stiff battle, the pair found themselves atop the structure grappling over a flaming barbed wire 2x4. Having reached a point of no return for the gimmicks, Cactus attempted to piledrive Triple H through the roof, but 'The Game' backdropped out and sent the Challenger careering to ring below.
Giving way under his weight, Cactus miraculously showed signs of life, but ate one final Pedigree to signal his emotional (three week) retirement.
