14. Vs. Sting - WrestleMania 31
While it may find itself at the forefront of many a fans' minds when it comes to beats that best sum up Vince McMahon's petty obsession with getting one over on an enemy that has long since died a death, there's still some joy to be had in a frankly absurd but still mega pop-inducing Icon vs. Cerebral Assassin conclusion here.
And in all honesty, nothing much of note went down before the Levi's Stadium-igniting arrivals of both men's supposed allies - forget about Sting's wars with Hogan and the nWo, it's them against us, dammit!
But it was that intervention - made possible via yet another No DQ stip - which gave us everything from Nash teasing battering his quad mid-DX-beatdown and HBK nailing Sting with Sweet Chin Music, that helps paper over the undeniable crack that was handing the former WCW man an 'L' in his first and only 'Mania showing.
WCW may have lost the war, and this battle… but at least the 31st Show of Shows paid off on a dream showdown years in the making. Regardless of how far past its sell by date it was in the end.
