Ranking Every Universal Championship Title Change From Worst To Best
10. Braun Strowman Wins His First World Title At The Performance Center
As mentioned before, Braun Strowman and Goldberg collided in one of the most random world title bouts at WrestleMania 36. Although WWE did their best in an emergency, they could have done better by providing some build-up to this match. Roman Reigns earned himself a world title match at the 'Showcase of Immortals' by just saying he is next. His lackluster rivalry with the Universal champ tested the patience of the wrestling community.
Still, their bout promised to be a once in a lifetime affair. Hence, the fans remained optimistic about the future. When 'The Big Dog' pulled out of the mega event, the organization announced 'The Monster Among Men' as his replacement without giving a proper explanation. There was neither a #1 contender's match to determine the new challenger, nor a confrontation between the new challenger and the titleholder to give the bout more credibility.
Even though the former Wyatt Family member deserved to be at the top, his previous defeats against Tyson Fury and Sami Zayn had had a nasty impact on his beastliness. Thus, a lack of storyline led to this title change, becoming one of the worst in the title's history.
