Ranking Every WCW Champion In History - From Worst To Best

7. Big Van Vader

Sticking with that early-1990s period in WCW’s history, next we move onto Big Van Vader, the very man that Simmons of course defeated for that maiden world title win.

Vader himself scored three World Heavyweight Championships during his time with the company; a record that would remain unbeaten for a good three years until Ric Flair usurped it in 1996.

Significantly though, Vader’s third and final reign clocked in at a lengthy 285-days, commencing at a house show in March 1993 and coming to a halt in December of that year at the Starrcade: 10th Anniversary show. That’s enough to go down as the third-longest reign in company history, and the longest for anyone whose surname isn’t Hogan.

Vader would later go on to have a two-year spell with WWE, although it was never quite as fruitful as his time in WCW.
