Ranking Every WCW Champion In History - From Worst To Best
18. David Arquette
The reason it was rather trickier than expected to settle on Vince Russo in last place on this list, is primarily because the list of former WCW Champions also includes David Arquette. Who is, of course, an actor.
Arquette could easily have scooped the dubious honour of being named the worst WCW World Heavyweight Champion in history, but given that he was simply following orders, I’d say the previous case is even more regrettable. Diamond Dallas Page has actually spoken of how Arquette was initially against the idea of winning the belt, because even he—an outsider to the business—could see that it was an absolutely terrible plan.
Still, WCW went ahead with it nonetheless, before having the actor lose the belt to Jeff Jarrett just 12 days later at Slamboree 2000. At least he dropped the belt in actual match I guess, which makes it not quite as awful as Russo’s reign. Mind you, that’s hardly much of a compliment…
