7. Edge And Lita

Just 10 months after Lita’s last televised wedding on Raw, she was getting ready to tie the knot with the man she cheated on Matt Hardy with...in storyline terms, and in real life. Is nothing off-limits, WWE?

Considering the couple took such glee over their public displays of affection, which later in their careers included a live sex celebration, this was one of WWE’s more risque weddings. The two were making out well before they were supposed to kiss, and Edge gleefully proclaimed in his vows “Lita, everyone knows me as Money in the Bank. But now you also know me as money in the sack!” Lita later delivered the horrifying/hilarious line of “if falling in love with you makes me a slut, then I am proud to be the slut of the century.” The look on the priest’s face upon hearing that was pretty great.

Of course, when the “speak now or forever hold your piece” part came up, there were a couple interruptions. Matt Hardy’s music played, which made the crowd absolutely explode. This is because he wasn’t actually in the company at the time! He’d been let go due to the fallout from the relationship between Edge and Lita. However, the music was just WWE trolling us. It was pretty brilliant.

Then in one of WWE’s greatest comedic timings ever, the priest began saying “...the power vested in me by God, our father and our lord...JESUS CHRIST!” That last part was due to his reaction of Kane sticking his head up through the middle of the ring in a fantastic visual. Kane then chased off Lita and Edge, but wanted to leave us with something memorable, so he Tombstoned the priest for the hell of it.

It wasn’t quite as fun as Lita’s first wedding, but it had enough going on for it to deliver a pretty great segment.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
