Ranking Every WWE Money In The Bank Winner’s Run With The Briefcase
5. The Miz - 2010
As a smarmy, gloating, pretty much insufferable heel, the Miz’s gimmick was tailor-made for a stint with the Money in the Bank briefcase.
His run lasted the better part of four months and saw multiple cash-in attempts on then-champion Sheamus, but each time he’d find his plans foiled. Miz was also United States champion at the time and it was during this period that he and Daniel Bryan had their memorable rivalry, which ultimately saw Miz lose the belt in a quality meeting at Night of Champions.
Still, Miz’s consolation prize eventually came when he cashed in on the relatively small-scale stage of Monday Night Raw after Randy Orton had just defended his WWE title against Wade Barrett. Not only did it back up all of his bravado and braggadocio, but it also saw him go on to headline the following year’s WrestleMania.
One of the main purposes of a Money in the Bank run is to elevate a mid-carder to the main event scene, and that’s exactly what was achieved during Miz’s stint.
