Needless to say, Jim Ross is widely considered by many to be the greatest wrestling commentator of all-time, so to put him anywhere but the top of the list would be asinine. At the same time, however, he didn't have an extended stay in NXT, so it's difficult to call him the promotion's best announcer ever over the next two selections.

Nevertheless, JR's four months on the black-and-yellow brand were an absolute treat for viewers. In that time, he called Seth Rollins' historic NXT Championship victory as well as the first matches of Paige, Bray Wyatt, and others.

He and William Regal were virtually the perfect pairing and played off each other incredibly well. It was also a wise way for WWE to utilize the WWE Hall of Famer if he wasn't going to be appearing on Raw each week, while at same time lending credibility to the talent of tomorrow.

JR's involvement in the product early on drew fans in to give it a try, and who knows where NXT would be today had he not agreed to come in to call the action for the brand's beginning stages?
