Shane McMahon's name was mud coming out of the men's 2022 Rumble. It didn't take long for reports to hit social media and the news sites that Shane-O had been trying to chuck his weight around backstage. According to McMahon, he should dominate the match and look like a total hard man. Yes, even against workers like Brock Lesnar.

Oh dear.

This didn't sit well with Vince, so much so that he fired his own son shortly afterward. Brock was the priority, not Shane, and it'd be Lesnar who avenged one of 2020's best moments by eliminating Drew McIntyre to win the thing. People popped, but there was something missing from the occasion that was difficult to put one's finger on.

That could go for the entirety of the men's Rumble as a whole. No offence intended, but you know things are dire when Bad Bunny entering as #27 is a highlight. The rapper has had some cracking moments under WWE's banner, no doubt, but it was hard to take him seriously as a threat when in there against some of the company's top names.

It says everything for the strength of the Rumble that one this low on the list can't be considered terrible, but it wasn't top tier either.
