It might be harsh, but the ThunderDome aesthetic defo had an impact on the Rumble's buzz in 2021. The men's match managed to offset that a little better than the women's one, but perhaps that's more to do with the eventual winner there and the fact it went on second; being the second Rumble is sometimes bad, but not in 2021.

Staring out at all those bored faces on the LED screens made for a bizarre visual, and that still makes it harder to get into what all 30 women were trying to do when re-watching now. There is joy to be had watching Bianca Belair last a whopping 56 minutes before beating out Rhea Ripley to stamp her ticket to WrestleMania 37's main event, though.

Only the iciest of icy hearts would fail to flutter at that sweet moment for the EST!

Regrettably, there weren't many spots to match the closing stretch throughout. The 2021 women's Rumble had star power, but an odd atmosphere made it a chore for even the announcers to get hyped. Again, the guys fared a bit better somehow. Not bad, but certainly not the kind of Rumble people will relive over and over again.
