There are bad Rumbles, good Rumbles and great Rumbles, and then there are ones that play out almost entirely as expected and as a result fall somewhere in between.

The men's title scene wasn't particularly captivating by the start of 2019 thanks to a Brock Lesnar reign restarted thanks to the unfortunate and unexpected health absence of Roman Reigns the prior October. The New Daniel Bryan was captivating, but the lack of juice in his own bout with AJ Styles on the very same show had tempered expectations there too.

Eventual winner Seth Rollins was the best of a bad situation for WWE, and the prevailing predictability of that flattened the atmosphere. Nia Jax's cameo was a cheat code, but one of the only bright spots in a mostly dull affair.
