33. WrestleMania XXVII - The Miz Vs. John Cena

Regardless of the great heel run he was on through 2010 and into 2011, it still felt just a tad odd to see the Miz main event WrestleMania XXVII as the WWE Champion.

Some had thought that CM Punk would've been the heel to face off with John Cena at that '11 edition of the Showcase of the Immortals. As the event got closer and closer, though, with the Miz still as WWE Champion, it became apparent that we really were going to get Miz vs. Cena in the 'Mania main event - all, of course, with the backdrop of the Rock serving as the host of WrestleMania XXVII.

The match itself was bang average, with the 70,000+ Georgia Dome crowd only showing mild interest (at best) in the bout. A legitimate knockout to the Miz further hindered the match, with the contest initially ending as a double countout. Yes, the main event of WrestleMania ended up a disappointing countout.

The Rock would famously restart the match and hit a Rock Bottom on Cena to allow The Miz to get the win, but this main event was merely an asterisk in the greater story of Rock vs. Cena.
