Ranking Every WWE UK PPV Ever
8. Insurrextion 2001
This card could have been great when you look back at it. Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz, The Dudleys, and X-Factor in a four-way tag? Yes please. Chris Jericho vs. William Regal? Sounds great. How about Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit in a 2 out of 3 falls match? Shut up and take my money already! Sadly, these weren't the calibre of matches that fans had come to expect from these guys and everything felt a little phoned in. Not awful, just not great.
Elsewhere you looked on anxiously as Eddie Guerrero tried to get a good match out of Grandmaster Sexay, The Holly Cousins fumbled around the ring against a past-their-prime Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. Big Show, who was feuding with Test, also had a match that nobody asked for against Bradshaw.
The main event was a handicap match for the WWE Championship with The Undertaker facing Triple H and the champion, Steve Austin. If you can look beyond the rather clumsy stipulation, this wasn't a bad match. The only problem here was that the American Bad Ass could only win the belt if he pinned Austin. Now, major title changes didn't happen on these shows but the face has to win the last match to keep the fans happy, so what happened? Undertaker pinned Triple H to win the match but not the title. Sure, this pleased the crowd but it also made The Phenom look like a bit of a chump.
