5. Rebellion 1999

If it wasn't for the main event of this show, Rebellion 1999 would probably be at the bottom of this list. The whole show was marred by a series of short and mostly terrible matches. Did anyone really want to see a three-minute match between Val Venis and Mark Henry? How about NO DQ between Kane and Big Show where only a chair is used? Yeah, we didn't think so.

Thankfully the crowd in Birmingham were treated to a bit of classic in the main event, which was a cage match between The Rock and Triple H for the WWE Championship. Both The People's Champ and The Game seem to be having an immense amount of fun here as they work the audience into a frenzy. The place almost erupts when Rock escapes the cage but an incapacitated referee is unable to call for the bell. Triple H eventually wins after interference from Chyna and The British Bulldog but this was a great fight nonetheless.

Incidentally, this was also the PPV where Stephanie McMahon lost her memory after The Bulldog threw a bin at her head. This confusing storyline would last for a few weeks as her then fiancée, Test, would try to remind her that she was in love with him. Although it was an awful angle, its inclusion on a British event made it seem like WWE were beginning to take their adventures across the Atlantic a little more seriously than usual.
