Ranking Every WWE World Title Reign After Money In The Bank Cash-Ins - From Worst To Best

9. Rob Van Dam - 2006

The Miz cash-in WWE Champion 2010

Rob Van Dam was the first man to announce a date and time for his cash-in, and the only man to be successful after doing so. He defeated John Cena at One Night Stand in 2006, became a double champion soon after (holding the WWE and ECW Championships) and fans were thrilled that the man who had been such a cult favourite for so long was finally getting a chance at the top.

It lasted all of 22 days. RVD dropped the WWE title to Edge (in a triple threat match that also included Cena), and then the ECW title to Big Show. The changes came after Van Dam found himself on the wrong end of a 30-day suspension after being arrested for possession of drugs, a dumb move if ever there was one.

It didn't last long, but RVD did manage to defend the title cleanly against Edge during his reign, and the time was notable for the brief, all too brief excitement. It could, it should have been something more.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
