To date, CM Punk is the only man to win two Money in the Bank ladder matches. He successfully cashed the briefcase in twice, with two contrasting reigns with the title as a result. His first cash-in came at the expense of Edge in 2008, when Punk was clearly positioned as a babyface despite the opportunistic nature of the cash-in.

Punk held on to the title for 69 days, defeating John 'Bradshaw' Layfield in his first feud as champion. Unfortunately, the title reign is most memorable for the way in which it ended, as Punk dropped the title without even being included in the match. Randy Orton punted him out of the Championship Scramble match at Unforgiven, allowing Chris Jericho of all people to take his place and his title.

Punk's reign was characterised by him looking somewhat lost with the title, thanks to a lack of faith from the booking team behind him. They clearly didn't want him as champion, and many became puzzled as to why he had been given the run if creative wasn't behind him. His second reign would be far more successful.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
