33. Randy Orton vs Triple H (WrestleMania 25)

In 2009, Randy Orton was an absolute menace. This was during his "punting era", during which Orton had little remorse for booting people square in the head. As we've established on this list, WrestleMania season had a horrible habit of  makingthe McMahon family the centre of attention. Orton had already punted Vince McMahon on the noggin, before taking out Shane McMahon and finally hitting an RKO on Stephanie, to incite the ire of her husband and protector, Triple H. He simply had to avenge them all in the main event of WrestleMania 25.

Orton was on fire during this time period, and he won that year's Royal Rumble to set up his first-ever WrestleMania main event, and the culmination of a rivalry with Triple H that had spanned for years. This feels like classic WrestleMania stuff, but the problem was it took place on the same night as The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels; a match that is rightly heralded as one of the greatest of all time.

As a result, the crowd felt spent, and the added stipulation that a DQ for champion, Triple H, would mean that the title would change hands was a massive misfire. Given that the feud was so personal, this took out any hope of the match heading into more violent territory and, as such, the match was fine on a night where they really needed to pull a classic out of the bag.
