The subverted 1980s equivalent of the Hart/Michaels marathon, Hulk Hogan Vs Andre The Giant has zero of the athleticism but approximately four times the gasping onlookers and millions more wide-eyed and inspired by the little they actually do. Almost impossible to enjoy as a physical spectacle, the contest is no less breathtaking in terms of spectacle and scale.

It is impossibly big. As the two literal giants faced off before the bell, the curious site of a tossed artifice in the crowd fills the frame between endlessly twinkling flashbulbs. Had anybody in person later suggested it was a baby hurled in sheer excitement, few would doubt the anecdote.
