A disappointing topliner on a disappointing night, the 'McMahon-In-Every-Corner' Fatal Four Way may have escaped criticism had Triple H not retained his title in a shocking-for-the-time heel retention.

The company were bang right to do it, mind. A one-on-one Backlash rematch between the real headliners Triple H and The Rock drew one of the best B-show buyrates ever, whilst the inclusion of Mick Foley and The Big Show gave created the excuse to include Linda and Shane McMahon respectively alongside a swerve-turning Vince and 'Billion Dollar Princess' daughter Stephanie.
