Ranking EVERY WWE WrestleMania Main Event From Worst To Best

8. Shawn Michaels Vs Stone Cold Steve Austin (WrestleMania 14)

Shawn Michaels went quite literally by the grace of God into his second life as a professional wrestler in 2002, but he seemed enveloped by another being entirely as he gutted out a main event that over-delivered based on the broken bodies of its combatants.

Age and adrenaline got both over the line, with Michaels (32) staring retirement in the face thanks to a back injury sustained in January that year, and Austin (34) financially motivated to delay spinal surgery after very nearly being paralysed the prior summer.

Both may have struggled to even get cleared in 2018. The fortune Vince McMahon now resides over may not have even existed if such restrictions existed two decades ago.
