In 2002, Test, Christian and Lance Storm teamed up to form a stable known as The Un-Americans. In an attempt to highlight that WWE discriminated against Canadian wrestlers, the faction threatened to burn the American flag on the 26 August edition of Raw.

After brawling with Goldust and Booker T, Test readied himself to incinerate the stars and stripes, but before the damage could occur, Kane's music hit and The Big Red Machine made a beeline for Test and Christian. This was more than an average return for Kane, however, as it was also a reinvention. The hellish competitor wore new black and red attire, and finished off his new look with a half-mask. Kane had previously been out of action for four months due to a storyline that saw the nWo crush his face. In reality, Jacobs had tore his bicep and needed time to recover.

This Kane was different from the one that we'd grown accustomed too. He was much more agile in the ring, and his new look allowed for the character to become more comedic - something we saw on this very night when he performed a variation of the Spinaroonie known as the 'Kanearoonie'.
