Ranking The Biggest Rivalries In Wrestling Every Year 1990-2020

29. 1992 - Mitsuharu Misawa & Partners Vs. Jumbo Tsuruta & Partners

It's a slight disservice to only include this in 1992, in truth. The All Japan war between Mitsuharu Misawa and Jumbo Tsuruta had been waged for several epic and transcendent years after one earth-shattering loss by the legend Tsuruta to thrilling upstart Misawa in 1990.

The defeat marked a shocking change in plans behind the scenes for the company as well as gradual changing of the guard on screen. Enraged by the loss, Tsuruta swore revenge on the Misawa, but getting one singles win back wasn't enough to arrest the changes occurring underneath him.

1992 saw the legendary heel continue to utilise the help of Akira Taue, Masanobu Fuchi and Yoshinari Ogawa against the Super Generation Army unit of Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, Toshiaki Kawada and Tsyoshi Kikuchi, each a celebration era-defining change and unparalleled commercial and critical acclaim.
