The men's and women's tag team titles aren't the only ones suffering from the Wild Card Rule at the moment.

Look no further than Finn Bálor, the current Intercontinental champion, whose appearances on SmackDown Live have been few and far between since May's Money in the Bank pay-per-view. After falling short in that night's Ladder match, he became an afterthought on the blue brand, despite being in possession of one of WWE's longest-tenured titles.

In fact, he and Andrade went into Super ShowDown following little hype/build for their Intercontinental Championship clash from WWE. It was a decent match at best, and although he successfully retained his title, Bálor has since missed the last two weeks of WWE TV.

Unless there's another issue fans aren't aware of, there is no excuse for Bálor to be off SmackDown as frequently as he has been lately. He is the perfect person to take that title back to the heights it was once at given his skill set and star power, but he has yet to be given a chance to really show what he can do in the role.

Until he finds direction as Intercontinental champion, that belt is no more than a glorified prop.
