Ranking The Undertaker's 22 WrestleMania Matches

9. Randy Orton: WrestleMania XXI

In many respects, this was the rivalry that took the entity that was the Steak to a completely new level. Realistically, this was the first Mania where many thought the Streak was in danger. Rumours were rife that Taker was ready to call it a day on his career and losing at Mania to the Legend Killer would have been a fitting end. It's the old school, pardon the pun, mentality that says a retiring superstar should lose their last match. Something that has led many to believe The Phenom will never return to the ring after last year's defeat to Brock Lesnar. Orton had the ability, the compelling story line and the wildcard in the form of his father to end the unbeaten run. He was also a prime age and destined for big things, even though he already had a World Heavyweight Championship reign under his belt which is obviously pretty big. It was looked on as a passing of the torch. All that proved to be hot air as Taker pulled another win out of the bag. The match itself was a lot better than some give it credit for and, even though Orton lost, the match would see him truly rise to the main event level. He absolutely came of age at Mania 22.
