Punk's performance in this match was utterly breathtaking and arguably deserving of a win. Entering this match, Undertaker and Punk had engaged in a more than personal feud that saw the Cult of Personality make a mockery of Paul Bearer's passing. Between pouring an urn full of ashes onto Taker to impersonating Bearer, there was no shortage of controversy. The match started at 200 miles an hour and didn't slow down, it was truly a modern day classic. Punk countered a lot of the moves that no one ever counters, such as Old School, which made it all the more special. There was plenty of high spots too. Punk even delivered a flying elbow from the top turn buckle to the annouce table, which didn't break. Ouch. A reversed Go To Sleep into a Tombstone claimed the win for Taker. This was a unique meeting as both men got over. Normally, Taker is the man that takes all the plaudits. Punk got plenty of cheeky offence in to get him over as the edgy heel while the wily veteran came back from the jaws of defeat to claim the win.
