Ranking Triple H's 19 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

7. Triple H Vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania X-7)

Triple H was coming off the greatest year of his career as WrestleMania X-7 arrived. He was unarguably the best wrestler in the world, having put on classics with Mick Foley, The Rock and Chris Jericho, event getting a legitimate four-star television match out of Taka Michinoku on Raw. Simply put, no one played the game as well as Triple H. As great as he was, though, he could not compare to The Undertaker on the grandest stage imaginable. The Phenom was the standard bearer when it came to excelling at the biggest show of the year and after both men were shut out of the WWE Championship picture, they found themselves opposite each other in Houston. Understanding that The Phenom had not quite developed into the extraordinary worker he would become in the second half of his storied career, Triple H worked a match with his opponent that played to his strengths while simultaneously hiding his weaknesses. Actual wrestling was at a premium. Instead, the performers brawled from the ring to the stands and back again, creatively bumping the referee on countless occasions in order to justify the use of weapons. Popping the crowd with well-placed spots and thriving on the near-falls, the match came from out of nowhere to become one of many beloved matches on that night's card. The Undertaker won, of course, but it was Triple H who once again proved his ability to adapt his style to fit that of his opponent.
