Ranking Triple H's 19 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

1. Triple H Vs. Chris Benoit Vs. Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania XX)

The greatest match on Triple H's WrestleMania resume is the Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship that headlined the 2004 incarnation of the event. The lead heel in WWE, he was faced with defending his title against former friend-turned-bitter enemy Shawn Michaels and Royal Rumble winner Chris Benoit, who was enjoying the greatest main event run of his career. With the eyes of the wrestling world on him, and the historic Madison Square Garden the setting for the event, The Game was determined to deliver another defining performance. And he did. Since returning from his torn quadriceps muscle way back in January 2002, there was little denying that Triple H was not the same wrestler he was prior to the injury. He had put on a ton of muscle mass and was slower than he had been. He no longer took the bumps that he had previously and relied far too much on his backstage political pull instead of working the best match imaginable with the talent in front of him. His performance at WrestleMania XX was the first time that fans got another glimpse of the performer they one knew. He bumped all over the ring for both Benoit and Michaels and magically meshed the brawling that fans of the Attitude Era so enjoyed with the more mat-based work that Benoit excelled at. He even joined forces with Michaels, ever so briefly, to suplex their opponent through the announce table. Triple H was almost always at the center of the action, battling either of his opponents at any given time. He was the glue that held the match together and it was his submission to Benoit's Crippler Cross Face that brought about the happy ending so many fans had hoped for.
