11. Clash Of Champions

What happened: After Triple H helped Kevin Owens win the Universal Championship on Raw, a babyface Seth Rollins emerged as his first challenger. The two had their first bout at Clash of Champions, and Rollins seemed to have the belt won when he hit Owens with a Pedigree, but Chris Jericho placed Owens's foot on the bottom rope. Rollins went after Jericho, knocking the referee down, and ended up hitting Owens with another Pedigree, but nobody was there to count the fall. Jericho came back in, but Rollins fought off both him and Owens and seemed to have things in hand, but he couldn't wake the referee. Eventually, Stephanie McMahon sent another ref down and Owens caught Rollins with a Pop-Up Powerbomb for the win.

Why it sucked: If it wasn't already obvious, that kind of convoluted overbooking is rarely a good idea. This was not one of the exceptions, as the finish made the new champion look like a complete boob who wasn't able to hang with his babyface opponent in anything resembling a fair fight. To be honest, that's the template WWE has used for most world champions not named Cena or Reigns over the past decade, but it always sucks. The champion looks like a complete loser, and they wonder why ratings plummet.
